A Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme for the UK

Response to the DETR Consultation Document. The Greenhouse Gas Emissions Trading Scheme (GGETS) is an ill-thought out and badly designed mechanism to reduce emissions. It is unlikely to meet its objectives, and should be regarded as a scheme to subsidise large industry to reduce its emissions, rather than a genuine attempt to initiate trading.
